This patch aims at creating a common base for modmakers and modusers to build and install their mods on with minimal amount of conflicts. The patch also provides basic support for new hubs that modmakers can now create with community-made Radish Modding Tools.
Anyways. If you have not bought Witcher 3 yet, I would recommend getting it from GOG.com here. GOG allows you to download the offline installer and thus removing the dependancy on Steam to get it working. One less problem to worry about!

Community Patch - Base is a mod for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This patch aims at creating a common base for mod makers and mod users to build and install their mods on with minimal amount of conflicts. The patch also provides basic support for new hubs that mod makers can now create with community-made Radish Modding Tools.
Community Patch - Base is a replacement for Unification patch. You don't need Unification patch if you're using Community Patch - Base, and all the mods that currently have Unification patch as a requirement will eventually migrate to Community Patch - Base.
Currently there's only one way of installing the patch - manual copying of the files. Do not attempt to install the patch with Vortex/NMM or TW3MM - you'll end up installing a dummy script only, which exists to trigger re-compilation after the patch is installed.
Do not choose "keep both files" option! If you decide to backup your /content/content0/scripts folder before installing the patch, move your backup outside of the folder. Do not delete your existing /content/content0/scripts folder before installing the patch! If you don't have such a folder, make sure you have the latest patch installed and/or verify the game's cache using Steam/GOG verification feature.
If you've had Unification Patch and/or other mods installed before installing this patch, you don't need to uninstall anything. Use Script Merger to delete all your existing merges, then perform all the above install steps and merge your mods again with Script Merger.
If you want to revert back to your 1.32 non-GOTY version, delete your existing /content/content0/scripts folder, then download "Vanilla 1.32 scripts" and copy "content" folder to your folder. After that go to your \Mods folder and delete "mod0000____CompilationTrigger" folder. Re-merge all your Script Merger script merges, if you had any.
If you want to revert back to your 1.32 GOTY version, delete your existing /content/content0/scripts folder, then download "Vanilla 1.32 GOG GOTY scripts" and copy "content" folder to your folder. After that go to your \Mods folder and delete "mod0000____CompilationTrigger" folder. Re-merge all your Script Merger script merges, if you had any.

As ever, there's a little bit of admin and housekeeping involved if you want to download the Witcher 3 next-gen update on any of those machines. And it's worth noting that, even if you're playing on an older system like the PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch, your game should still receive an update today (it just won't be quite as powerful as the ones on the new hardware).
And so, keep on reading and we'll tell you how to download the Witcher 3 next-gen update, and we'll show you how to make sure you're playing the right version when you jump back into Geralt's greatest game to date. Only time will tell if The Witcher 4 can top it!
If you've never bought The Witcher 3 on Xbox before, you can buy the game directly from the Microsoft Store. If you're playing on an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, your console will automatically download the enhanced version when you install the game. You'll notice that it says 'Enhanced for Xbox Series X/S' on the product page.
Note: consoles sometimes download updates when we're not looking, especially if you leave them on in the background, so it might have been installed already! On the same 'Manage game and add-ons' menu that we just told you how to get to, you can also click on 'File' - this will give you some update history, including the date of when your latest update was installed for this game. If it's 14th December, you already have the next-gen update installed.
If you've never bought The Witcher 3 on PC before, you can buy the game from Steam at this link. Before you play it for the first time, Steam should force you to download the latest update, which will bring all the next-gen features into the game.
NVIDIA and AMD keep updating drivers. To get them, you need to go to their official website, download the driver corresponding with your specific flavor of Windows version (for example, Windows 10 64-bit) and install the driver manually.
You can use REDmod modding tools separately (in the commandline) or integrated into the WolvenKit mod editor (recommended for best experience and ease of use). WolvenKit can be downloaded here and will detect if REDmod is installed upon startup.
Even a 7-years old game can have bugs still in it. CD PROJEKT RED announced that while we should not expect new content added to the game after this Next-Gen patch, some bug fixes may still be addressed. And there were a ton of fixes in this one! Check the Patch Notes available below in this article if you want to read them all.
You can follow our in-depth walkthrough and guide on how to get the Forgotten Wolf School Gear set. The guide includes instructions how to start the quest, how to complete it and how to craft both the normal and Mastercrafted versions of the new witcher set.
Below you can read the full and officially published by CD PROJECT RED patch notes for the next-gen update to The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. The notes are not comprehensive of all the changes. There are a few surp[rises left as they mentioned during the live stream two weeks before the release. This is up to us, the community, to discover!
To get around that in the new update: in the launcher, next to the play button is a drop-down box where you can select DirectX 11 and that will get it working again. Another option for those that want it, is in the game Properties -> Betas, you can select the Classic option to get the pre-patch version of the game. You can select that Beta even before you download it, so you don't end up wasting time with an extra download too.
1. Download full game v4.00 > extract & install it2. Next, download Update v4.00 Hotfix2 > unzip and you will see 2 patches included > install in turn according to the correct .exe file name that I noted above
Some PC issues are hard to tackle, especially when it comes to corrupted repositories or missing Windows files. If you are having troubles fixing an error, your system may be partially broken. If you have Witcher 3 installed on your PlayStation 4 console or the PS4 version of the game on PlayStation 5, the first step is to verify the game is running on the latest patch. Version 4.0 is the latest version for PlayStation 4 Witcher 3 so ensure it is up to date. Otherwise, the save file transfer process will remain incomplete.

Note that people are saying that there have been issues with the PS4 version not updating to patch 4.00 due to disc issues. Also, it seems the disc version and PSN account needs to be on the same region or else it might cause problems as well.
If you are hoping to relive your witching days and start a new game+ in The Witcher 3, you should install the latest patch before you do. It's around 3GB in size on Steam, though it's compressed down a little smaller on GOG at 1.9GB. A pretty big hotfix, but we'll take it, and it also is intended to fix GOG and Steam overlays in-game.
But perhaps this hotfix can help somewhat, though initial reports seem a bit patchy. Users are reporting the new hotfix patch works in some instances over on Reddit (opens in new tab), though others haven't had as much luck. Same goes for the replies to The Witcher account on Twitter (opens in new tab). We're going to have to keep an eye out on this one to see what the overall verdict is, but in the meantime it's worth a go if you've been starved of ray-traced Geralt all weekend.
A common reason to move your game install files is that you've added a new faster or larger drive to your system, and redownloading is impractical when you could simply move the files and reconfigure the game launcher with said location. 2ff7e9595c
